Bioanalysis of biotherapeutics measures the concentrations of biotherapeutics in biological matrices. This information is essential to establish pharmacokinetic behavior, and assess pharmacodynamics and toxicokinetics, for a therapeutic. For a variety of reasons, ligand binding assay (LBA) has been dominant in bioanalysis of biotherapeutics. However, recent developments in LC/MS analysis have shown that LC/MS based biotherapeutics quantification is complementary to LBA.
